Thank you for this amazing conversation. And yes, “Strangers drowning” is a beautiful book and it also helped me to better understand my work and values 🩵.

Glad you enjoyed it--and yes I also remember reading "Strangers Drowning" and marveling at the skilled portrayal of her subjects.

Shared it with the AAJA slack. Hope some of the younger folks read it.

I always learn so much for these Q&As. I really like hearing how Han brings up this concern about painting a subject in an unflattering light and the point about if one does omit important information, how this can be a betrayal of journalism. Also adding "Strangers Drowning," to my reading list!

So glad you enjoyed reading this one, Bonnie. And I agree that piece of advice was so good. Thanks for reading!

Angela Chen is the best! And this is a great reminder to read "Strangers Drowning," which has been sitting on my bookshelf for a while.

Yes to Angela! And “Strangers Drowning” is excellent.

As a fellow immigrant on a visa, I so appreciated hearing about the struggles of having to choose work (and turn down work) because of one's visa status

This was so helpful to know when Sheon spoke to my students as well.
